Jack's Birthday Celebration!

We celebrated Jack's 2nd birthday with family and close friends yesterday and it was casual and wonderful!  People ate, kids played, Jack got spoiled rotten with presents and it was complete with Mickey Mouse themed cupcakes and ice cream!

I am proud (and a little shocked) he blew out both candles at once (with a little prompting)!

Mother's Day Reflections on my Children

My son is all boy.... This is what he choose to do after saying good bye to Grandma when Mommy got home from work.

No feeling one way or another if we're having a boy or a girl with this next one, but he or she will likely be a strong personality.  Today when Jack and I were laying on the couch trying to snuggle his little brother or sister started trying to kick him.  I don't know if they were just as frustrated as me that he wouldn't lay still to settle down for a nap or if they were just trying to point out that that he or shee will give him a run for for his money! 

Feeling baby #2 kick on Mother's day while snuggling my oldest is a wonderful feeling!  I am just so blessed!

Someone is Ready for Summer!

Luckily I cleaned out his clothes and found two bathing suits that will fit him this summer!  Swim lessons, here we come... in a few months!

Teach Me How To Factor

Here is my good friend from college with his students and another teacher. He is a high school math teacher who really goes the extra mile to connect with his students. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! If you have kids, neices or nephews who are learning algebra this should help the concept of factoring!

Wee Man Wiggles!

Here's a video of the little man dancing. We had the movie Step it Up 2 on and he was watching them break dance... he LOVES the scene that was on (and yes we have it on our DVR because he danced to it the 1st time)

I pretty much love how excited he is about dancing... let's just say, he gets that from his mama! I guess we'll just work on the rhythm!

As you can see, Jack is WALKING! He really started getting pretty good with it yesterday... finally! Many weeks of a few steps here or there and trying to motivate him and help him with balance. He's walking and standing up by himself (that is, getting to the standing position without pulling up on anything)... and well, he thinks he's kind of a big deal! Matt and I didn't take video yesterday because we were too busy enjoying our son, but my mom got video today so she could show my dad when she went home.

Swinging into Spring!

So, I'm not going to lie... I've been giving Matt a hard time lately. I've REALLY wanted Jack's swing hung on our playset and it has been like pulling teeth. Not because Matt hasn't wanted to do it, but he's been busy because of work, we didn't have the right size drill bit or new bolts with the eye on the end... but I was still impatient! Also, thank you to Uncle Patrick & Uncle Alex for getting Jack's swing for this past Christmas!

Rolly Polly...

Jack rolled over on the first college football Saturday of 2009 (Sept. 5, 2009), shortly after the Buckeye's scored their first touchdown of the game/season!

The things that excite us as parents are so amazing. I think it is hard to truly appreciate the little things in life until you have a baby. We're so proud of our little guy! Enjoy!
